October 20th Update on City Hall Flood
Temporary City Hall Opening Monday, Important News on Water Meter Reads, Debit Transactions
The City continues to make progress on setting up its temporary location at the former Super Valu grocery store located at 41 Centennial Drive North.
The main City Hall phone line (306) 931-2166 is now operational at the temporary City Hall and as of Monday, October 23rd, most day-to-day business operations should resume.
At this time, the City cannot process debit transactions. Residents are encouraged to pay their bills via cash or cheque, online via their financial institution, or to visit the Martensville Athletic Pavilion (MAP) at 200 Mike Sands Boulevard if they wish to pay by debit. The City will be providing updates once debit service at the temporary location is established.
Temporary power has been restored at City Hall to facilitate the clean-up and restoration of the building. The City continues to work with its insurance provider to determine the cost of the flood, extent of restoration, and when they will be able to operate out of the building.
Flooding at City Hall damaged equipment used to read residential water meters. For the month of October, all meter readings will be estimated for your utility bills. To ensure accurate water meter readings, residents are encouraged to read their own meters and submit the reading to the City at utilityclerk@martensville.ca or call (306) 683-5556 by October 30th.
Puddle Jumpers Preschool, which suffered some water damage from the flood, is now operating again out of the Civic Centre from a different room. The City and preschool are awaiting on information to see if and when any further remediation work will be required in their usual space.
The City would like to thank residents for their patience as they work to resume operations.
