Access to Information

The Local Authority Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (LA FOIP)

The Local Authority Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (LA FOIP) is a provincial statute that governs all local authorities. It promotes openness and transparency in municipal government while protecting individuals' privacy rights regarding personal information held by those authorities. The Act allows individuals to request access to records held by the City and outlines rules for how personal information is collected, used, and shared.

As a local authority, the City of Martensville is committed to operating in an open and transparent manner. The City provides access to records under its control, subject to limited and specific exceptions as outlined in LAFOIP.
