The City of Martensville is reviewing its current bylaw regarding the use of dirt bikes, ATVs, and other unlicensed vehicles on roadways, in parks, and on other lands within city limits. Residents have recently presented concerns to City Council regarding the use of these vehicles in the community.
We recognize that these issues can affect quality of life in our community. At the same time, we acknowledge that recreational vehicle use is a popular and valued activity for many residents.
In response, City Council has directed its administration to launch a public engagement initiative aimed at gathering input from across the community. This process will run throughout the summer and conclude in September.
Feedback collected will help inform potential changes to municipal bylaws, as well as guide improvements in public education and enforcement efforts.
We are committed to a balanced, informed approach. We look forward to initiating the public engagement process very soon and encourage all residents to share their perspectives and help guide future decisions through an upcoming public forum and survey.
In addition to our consultation survey, the City is hosting two in-person, public engagement events on ATV/Dirt bike/Unlicensed Vehicle Use in Martensville. These events will offer residents an opportunity to connect with City officials in community spaces, share information and gather feedback on this matter. These events are open to all residents, see below for details:
