SaskPower Smart Meter Installations
 

In 2026, SaskPower will continue installing Smart Meters in the City of Martensville as part of its province-wide initiative to modernize Saskatchewan’s power system.

Smart Meters help improve reliability, support a cleaner and more efficient power grid, and reduce the need for manual meter readings. There is no cost to customers for the installation.

Residents will receive advance notice from SaskPower before their Smart Meter is installed. Installations are completed by trained SaskPower contractors, and in most cases, the process is quick and does not require the homeowner to be present.

Natural Gas
  • Natural Gas services are provided to Martensville residents by SaskEnergy.
    • If you have questions regarding your energy bill, contact SaskEnergy
    • Report a gas leak directly through SaskEnergy's service channels.
Underground Locates: Know Before You Dig
 
Sask 1st Call

To ensure the safety and integrity of underground utilities, it is mandatory to contact Sask 1st Call before initiating any digging activities.

This service provides underground facility screening and notification for safe excavation. Following this procedure is essential to prevent potential damage, service disruptions, and safety hazards. 

Locate requests for routine work can be made online at Sask1stcall.com, or by phone (866) 828-4888.

  • Phone: 1-866-828-4888
  • Notice Required: Minimum of 3 full business days (excluding the day of request) for routine locates
  • Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
  • Online Requests: Available 24/7

It's important to note that not all companies subscribe to this service - It's the responsibility of the digger to contact those unregistered facitilities prior to excavation.

Access Communications 

Access Communications provides underground cable utilities for internet, TV, phone, and security services.

Access Communications is not a member of Sask 1st Call. Prior to digging, contact Access Communications through their Locate Request Service to ensure safety standards are being met. Failure to follow the proper locate process may result in full replacement costs being invoiced if services are damaged.
