Payment Options

The City of Martensville accepts payment for utility, taxes and other select services through a number of ways

  • - Cash, Debit or Cheque.  Payments can be made in person at City Hall during business hours.  Cheques can also be placed through the drop-box at City Hall during holidays, weekends or off hours.
  • - Online & Telepay - Please contact your bank for assistance in setting up online and phone payments. 

Note: Three to five business days are required for payment to be processed. If payment is not received in our office before the deadline, due to this reason, we will not waive penalties.

  • Interac e-Transfer®.  You can make same-day payments for your utility bill, property taxes, and more using the address, payments@martensville.ca.  The City is set up for Auto Deposit so no security question or answer is required.  Please provide reference for your payment which may include your Utility Account Number, Property Tax Roll Number or invoice number.

Examples:

- For utility bill payments, the message should say: “Utility Account #001-000001234-001” (15 digits)

- For property tax payments, the message should say “Property Taxes Roll #000012345” (9 digits)

- For accounts receivable invoice payments, the message should say “Invoice #1234” (4 digits)

- For property information disclosure statements (PIDs), the message should include the realtor’s last name & the full civic address of the property.

- For all other payments (including license renewals, permit fees, etc.), please contact City Hall for assistance on message content at 306-931-2166.

- Please note we are not accepting e-Transfer® for recreation programming registrations currently.

  • - TIPPS (Tax Installment Payment Plan Service Program - TIPPS offers equalized monthly property tax payments. Late payment penalties will not apply to TIPPS users.

This form must be received by the City at least two weeks prior to your next payment date.If payments are dishonoured as N.S.F., you will be subject to a $30.00 Service Charge. In the event of three (3) such dishonoured payments, you will be discontinued from the T.I.P.P.S. plan.

Current Services Offered on OptionPay include:
  • -Utility bill payments: You will need your ACCOUNT NUMBER when entering payment information.
  • Property tax payments: You will need your ROLL NUMBER when entering payment information.
  • Accounts receivable invoice payments:  You will need the INVOICE NUMBER.
  • Property Statements including Tax Certificates, Property Information Disclosure's (PID's) and Business Information Abstract's (BIA's) You will need to include the FULL CIVIC ADDRESS OF THE PROPERTY when entering payment information.
  • Criminal Record Checks: You will need the FULL LEGAL NAME of the individual requiring the criminal record check as it appears on their government issued ID.  Please note that ID will be required when you go to the RCMP detachment to request the check, as well as proof of payment so have your email receipt handy.   • What is Option Pay?  OptionPay is a payment provider.  The City of Martensville is utilizing for online and in-person credit card transactions at City Hall. You can find out more information about OptionPay by visiting their website here.  
  • Are there added fees for utilizing OptionPay to pay with my credit card?-  Yes. All transactions carried out through OptionPay follow a tiered fee schedule, starting at a minimum fee of $2.00.  To see the full fee schedule for using this payment option, please visit their fee schedule here.
  • Why are there added fees?-The fees are administered directly through the OptionPay program for the use of their service These fees are not paid  to the City of Martensville.  
  • Is my credit card/information secure with this program?—OptionPay is a third party program that provides information on their security measures here    The City of Martensville takes no responsibility for, and accepts no liability, in the event of security breaches, technical failures difficulties, or issues that may arise from your use of OptionPay.  All users accept responsibility for their use of this service and utilize the service at their own risk.
