Martensville Official Community Plan Review- March 2021

The Deadline for Review of the Update to the Official Community Plan is officially closed.  See what we heard:

The Martensville Official Community Plan (OCP) is a comprehensive policy framework that guides the physical, environmental, economic, social and cultural development of our community as we work toward a collective long-term vision for Martensville.

In Fall 2019, the City undertook a comprehensive planning project to review the existing OCP (2008) and update the Plan to serve our community to 2050, when the population of Martensville is expected to be approximately 28,000 (City of Martensville Future Growth Plan).  Feedback was gathered from stakeholder meetings, a public engagement event, and an online questionnaire.

The review has been completed and we now have an updated draft Official Community Plan.

Prior to seeking City Council approval this Spring, we want to conduct one final check to ensure we have implemented your comments effectively. As the OCP is a long and detailed document, we have created a summary document that provides a summary of what we heard, and how your feedback was incorporated into the Plan.

We invite you to review the summary document and provide any final comments to the attention of the Planning Manager by March 23rd.

How does this updated Official Community Plan differ from the current plan?

There are a number of changes incorporated into the updated plan.  These changes were based on feedback received from stakeholders, planning recommendations, and changes in the local and regional landscape and economy.  We offer you the opportunity to compare the OCP documents but we have also compiled a summary of the changes and updates made in the OCP update.
