The Canada Community-Building Fund (CCBF) program, previously known as the federal Gas Tax Fund program in Saskatchewan, is administered by the provincial government to help support municipalities.
Of the $1,069,000 budgeted in Martensville for roadways in 2021, $577,300 of that is funded by the CCBF. This includes:
Repave 6th Avenue South from 4th Street South to Fehr Crescent
This work consists of milling the existing asphalt, reusing the existing granular base, and placing a new layer of asphalt over top the area.
Repave 8th Avenue South from 4th Street South to 1st Street South
This work consists of milling the existing asphalt, reusing the existing granular base, and placing a new layer of asphalt over top the area. Once paving is complete, new concrete traffic calming structures will be installed to help slow traffic upon entry into the school zone.
Overlay Main Street from 2nd Avenue South to 8th Ave South
A thin overlay of asphalt will be placed over top of the existing asphalt roadway to help extend its lifespan and improve the ride quality.
Repave Baycroft Drive from 3rd Avenue South to 5th Street South
This work consists of milling the existing asphalt, reusing the existing granular base, and placing a new layer of asphalt over top the area.
Repave 6th Street North from Klassen Cres to 8th Avenue North
This work consists of milling the existing asphalt, reusing the existing granular base, and placing a new layer of asphalt over top the area. In addition, isolated areas of this section of roadway will need the granular base removed and replaced. Once paving is complete, new concrete traffic calming structures will be installed to help slow traffic upon entry into the school zone.
