The temporary closure of the intersection at Main Street and Centennial Drive in Martensville will begin one day earlier than originally announced, according to the provincial Ministry of Highways and Infrastructure.

The intersection will be closed for about a month beginning on Saturday, August 11, instead of Sunday, August 12.

The contractor for the Martensville and Warman Interchange Projects, Peter Kiewit Sons ULC, issued a notification of the change on Friday, August 10, according to Steve Shaheen with the provincial Ministry of Highways and Infrastructure.

Peter Kiewit Sons ULC workers were busy on Friday, August 10 setting up signage and pylons at the intersection in preparation  for the closure.

The intersection, which is one of the busiest in Martensville, will be closed for approximately four weeks to facilitate construction of ramps onto the overpass bridge.

The main detour for traffic accessing Highway 12 will be north on Centennial Drive to Highway 305, and from there to Highway 12.
