The City of Martensville is saddened to remember and acknowledge the passing of our friend and former Councillor, Bob Blackwell.
Bob served the City of Martensville from 2012 to 2020. Mayor Kent Muench shared, "On behalf of our current Council, myself, and our administration, who had the opportunity to know and work with Bob over the years, we extend our deepest condolences to Vi, Steven, Leanne, and the entire Blackwell family."
Bob was a longtime resident of Martensville, having moved to our community in 1979. He was instrumental in many volunteer efforts, most notably in minor hockey, where he was named the first President of the Minor Hockey and Ringette Association in Martensville. He also served with the Sask Valley Minor Hockey Association, Bridge City BMX, and the 1991 World Junior Championships. Additionally, Bob volunteered on several professional boards and associations throughout his career.
As we share this sad news, we remember and thank Bob for the love and passion he showed for Martensville and for the time and dedication he gave to our community.
