Please note: Minutes are not posted on the website until they have been approved by Council at their next meeting. Council meetings are held every 2 - 4 weeks. Council schedule.

Meeting Procedure

Council meetings are where all the final decisions are made by the City Council. These meetings have the legal jurisdiction to transact City business. Council meetings are conducted in a structured legal format to make decisions. Committee of the Whole meetings are used by Council to study and review issues in detail. More time can be given at the Committee of the Whole meetings to study and report on specific issues with recommendations to the next or future Council meeting. City employees also attend Council and Committee of the Whole meetings to provide information and background on issues.

Council meetings and Committee of the Whole meetings are open to the public and start at 5:00 pm. Both meetings may be closed if the matter is of a confidential or sensitive nature.

Agenda Preparation
Council meeting agendas and Committee of the whole agendas are prepared by the City Clerk. You must be placed on the agenda in order to make a presentation. Further discussion of an issue, if needed, is usually referred to a Committee of the Whole meeting.

The public is encouraged to bring specific concerns to the attention of a City Council member or the City Manager.
